Announcing the Recipients of Open Education Week 2025 Sponsorships
BCcampus is celebrating Open Education Week 2025 by sponsoring 12 events hosted by 10 B.C. post-secondary institutions and organizations. These events are in honour of international Open Education Week, March 3-7, 2025. Open Education Week has taken place annually since 2012.
The institutions and organizations receiving funding this year include:
British Columbia Institute of Technology
British Columbia Open Education Librarians
Coast Mountain College
Douglas College
Justice Institute of British Columbia
Nicola Valley Institute of Technology
Simon Fraser University
Thompson Rivers University
University of British Columbia
University of the Fraser Valley
Each of our recipients will receive up to $1000 to host in-person, virtual, or hybrid events for faculty, staff, administrators, or students. The funding was available to any post-secondary institution, department, or organization in B.C. or the Yukon wishing to host an event for Open Education Week. Events include a panel about institutional open education initiatives, a workshop on choosing suitable open educational resources for your course, and a celebration in honour of institutional open education grant recipients.
Some events will be made open to colleagues across the province, and others will be more intimate affairs intended to grow the open education community within an institution. Events open to a wider attendance will be published on the BCcampus events calendar and in the BCcampus newsletter.
